One of the many problems faced by airlines is how to clear incoming transit passengers to board your aircraft during a tight turnaround window at a transit port. The airline can face a hefty fine for transporting someone they are not supposed to and perform checks when passengers check in to make sure they are entitled to enter their destination. This, however is much more complicated when the passenger is checked in by another partner airline who may have very different systems for checking that passenger.
This solution is specifically for gate agents to quickly scan a passengers passport at the gate. The device finds the passenger, checks their immigration entitlements and either clears them to board or locks their boarding. This is fully integrated to other airline departure control systems so once scanned a passenger can’t be accidentally boarded.
